Live show reference pictures - Part 2 - Show jumping

I am doing a series this December of live show reference pictures of different disciplines and the 1:9 models that you could use for this purpose. Today's post is show jumping.
Show jumping is when a horse jumps a course of brightly coloured fences under a certain amount of time. If the horse knocks a fence down, goes over the time or falls there are penalties - if you fall you get eliminated. Most of the time the courses are technical and hard to manoeuver the horse round. The fences can be very tall and very wide, and they can also have fillers which may spook the horse, plus water trays. Most of the time show jumping is held in a large arena.

Here are some pictures of show jumps to refer to:
A fence with a water tray

A spread fence with a filler
A vertical fence
These are just some of the kind of fences that you can expect at competitions.

Now we will look at suitable models for show jumping.

Breyer Flexible: An excellent horse for show jumping with a very exuberant canter.

Breyer Ballou: A little pony which actually looks like he's jumping! He's perfect for set ups.

Breyer Sport Jumper: A miniscule stable mate horse!

Breyer Cedric: A gorgeous model for show jumping, the same mould as Flexible.

Most cantering and jumping models are suitable for show jumping set ups, but these are definitely the best!

Here are some reference pictures for set ups.

I hope you benefitted from this blog post! Good luck with your show jumping set ups!
